Congrats. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/rankings/_/pollId/9/sportId/10031000 Kinda shocked we almost got all the first place votes. I actually thought Vandy would somehow hold on to #1 even with the loss to LSU, based solely on their stellar SEC record. 1 LSU (27) 52-9 2 2 Vanderbilt (3) 51-9 1 3 North Carolina (1) 52-8 5 4 Cal State Fullerton 48-8 4 5 Oregon State 45-10 3 6 Virginia 47-10 6 7 Oregon 45-14 8 8 North Carolina State 44-14 9 9 Florida State 44-15 7 10 UCLA 39-17 11 11 Mississippi State 43-17 13 12 Louisville 46-12 10 13 Indiana 43-14 16 14 South Carolina 39-18 12 15 Arkansas 37-20 15 16 Rice 41-17 20 17 Kansas State 41-17 17 18 Oklahoma 40-19 24 19 Oklahoma State 39-17 14 20 Arizona State 35-20-1 19 21 Cal Poly 39-17 22 22 Virginia Tech 38-20 NR 23 Ole Miss 37-22 21 24 Clemson 39-20 18 25 Campbell 49-10 25

Collegiate Baseball also has LSU #1 http://baseballnews.com/polls/ncaa-division-i/collegiate-baseball-div-i-poll-5-27-13
The committee chairman doesn't even know why they did it: "It was really a close, close call," committee chairman Dennis Farrell said. "I'm not so sure I can really articulate what the determining factor was...At the end of the day it's a vote of 10 committee members." The NCAA Division I Baseball Committee consists of 10 members, one from each of the eight Division I baseball regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Mideast, Midwest, Northeast, South and West) and two at-large members So the South might have been out-numbered by committee members not wanting to see the SEC at #1 and #2 What's interesting is they said they decided on UNC at #1 before the LSU/Vandy game ended, meaning they wouldn't have put Vandy #1 even if Vandy had won both the SEC and the SECT As it, these are their top four: UNC: ACC Regular Season Champs and ACC Tournament Champs Vandy: SEC Regular Season Champs Oregon St: Pac 12 Regular Season Champs (there is no Pac 12 Tournament) LSU: SEC Tournament Champs
Werd, no respect for a nationally recognized program. NC may or may not have a higher RPI than us, but you can't tell me they played a tougher schedule. I realize the ACC is the 2nd best baseball conference in America, but UNC has never even won a baseball championship. And Vandy, the number 2 seed? How can they can ahead of us when we beat them straight up? Then, there's Oregon St. They had a solid year, but not like us. Pure BS. But, to borrow from an old cliche', it's not where you start, it's where you finish. Geaux Tigers!
Seedings seem to almost mirror the RPI at least at the top of the standings. RPI/National Seed 1. UNC/UNC 2. Vandy/Vandy 3. Virgina/Oregon St. 4. LSU/LSU 5. Oregon St./Cal St Fullerton 6. Cal St Fullerton/Virginia 7. NC State/FSU 8. FSU/Oregon
