that's the thing... I do not think he is an "ace" pitcher as a starter. His ERA is in the 4's... He is a sinker-ball pitcher. When he is fresh and his arm is live, it is damn near impossible to hit the ball in the air off him. The problem was when he was a starter in the 5th-6th inning, he would wear out a little bit and his ball wouldn't have any movement. And a fat sinker = batting practice. So I think him being a closer is what is best for the team, obviously, but also for him, too, because I think he is a far more dominant 8th-9th inning guy than he is a 1-6th inning guy, because his arm is always live. The Georgia game (his last start) was a perfect example. Threw gas the 1st 5 or so innings, then wore out and got shelled to the point of blowing a huge lead.
Something else you didn't see much of before these last 3-4 series was the number of posts regarding the baseball team. There were a few games where almost everyone seemed to disappear. It's nice to win again! Thanks OkieTiger and Bayou Bengal11 for routinely providing PBP.
Hear, hear! :thumb: Link: in case you, like me, wondered if it's "here, here" or "hear, hear." I had to google it...
I agree. we should be in the polls in the morning. Hopefully we get another sweep this weekend. I'll be there pulling for the Tigers.:geaux:
guys, please note: this is a baseball thread! there are plenty of threads for the other subject. please use them, not this one. thank you.
i got to watch the replay tonight but it was the first video i have seen in a while. is cpm still regulating pitches a lot? they seemed to look better at the plate, or at least more comfortable.
if you would like to discuss the reasons your post was deleted, please pm me. i would have pm'ed a reply, however, you do not have your pm or e-mail option enabled. now may we please keep this thread on topic. thank you.
I was a little nervous when they put Bradford in for the 9th inning. Bradshaw was doing so well. But clutch 2 out 9th inning homer with one aboard to go ahead. Haven't seen that since 1996.
