My son said he can't remember an LSU team that had worse pitching and fielding than this one. I had nothing for him because I can't either.

The thing about this team is they were either on or off. Very few times did they play a complete game. Hopefully, that will change next season, along with improved pitching and less errors. Still not a horrible year considering.

So if the next football and basketball seasons end similarly what would you all think?

The difference is JJ came in with a lot of hype with a roster that was also hyped as well. Perhaps the expectations were a bit inflated. I think baseball is probably 2 and more likely 3 years away.

I didn't think we should have gotten rid of Wade. Ks didn't can their coach, how did that work out for them? We did and he has managed to somehow piece together a nice team. No idea how that will play out but definitely gets a couple seasons to show us what he can do.

Football is a completely different animal. Kelly HAS to win now. Not a championship but he must trend upwards or recruiting goes into the shitter regardless of NIL and we already suck at that.

    Just my .02 of course

Pitching was not what it should have been and fielding errors seemed to be one of the worst we have seen in a while. Will need to look at the stats.

Gotta disagree a little with this statement. I think baseball is one sport that can be improved pretty quickly with good recruiting.

The Advocate had a article today on players who are no longer eligible to return and those who can return but are draft eligible. It also noted that LSU has the #1 ranked recruiting class for 2022 with 12 pitchers (5 lefties). The big question is how many in the recruiting class will remain after the major league draft. That was a recurring issue with Paul Mainieri’s signing classes. NIL payments could be a game changer for colleges in the yearly tug-a-war with MLB teams for the high school players.

Oh it absolutely can be, no doubt! I'm trying to not fall into the same trap that got me this year! I'm just giving a buffer
