Ya know, that hire was the first of my LSU fandom that I actually got excited about. Trent Johnson was the second.
All LSU sports just ROCK!!!! Now to watch is another topic. Tv or live Football, baseball, then basketball. The rest I am just proud we are doing well in. All athletes deserve the opportunity for fan support, recognition, and to excell. Being the best at what they and having the opportunity to be rewarded for their achievments is what makes them proud of what they do.. I wish this for all the athletes that wear the Purple and Gold, showing their pride in being a Tiger.
Ouch. I'm slipping. I let this thread get to THREE pages before I can chime in?! Well, I've been visiting with family. Is anyone really surprised by this ranking? Look what we have coming back! Look at the number one class we have coming in! This team might be too talented. How in the hell are we going to play all of these guys? It hurts losing Hollander (although we have players that are better replacements, he was a TRUE Tiger,) and Bradford (will be tough to replace this kid on the mound. He was a stabilizer a lot like Mestepey was.) But we still have Coleman (our best pitcher from 08.) I can't rank which LSU sport is my favorite, I love them all. It's just a good thing that they all play at different parts of the season...almost. But LSU baseball....
I know that the days of "baseball dynasties" are long gone. But if we can keep this up, LSU baseball will continue to be exciting for years to come. CPM is a GREAT coach. I always thought how funny it was that people were actually questioning his coaching abilities. I think the way he got the team turned around last season is enough to shut everyone up. LSU also added another damn strong coach/recruiting coordinator in David Grewe (previous job was head coach at Michigan State.) Having a head coach from another major Div-1 school as your pitching coach/recruiting coord. is HUGE. LSU is loaded with talent, and with our fans, tradition, coaching staff and the new stadium--who wouldn't want to come play here!?
With his sports interest profile out there for all to see, I'm thinking he has no lobes left to remove.
Success does begat recruiting. Look at football. Although one of Bertman's problems recruiting was that many of the players that wanted to come got drafted high and went pro.
We have to wait until the season is over before we can speak of turnarounds, but this is definitely good news.
That's true. That was always a problem. I'm excited that CPM is able to get some of these guys in school. I look for a huge year from Chad Jones. I want to see what he can do considering he was drafted so high. :tigbas:
I'll be in Korea for awhile (don't know how long) because I have it good here. I have a university job that pays me 13 months out of the year (yes, an extra month's paycheck for completing my contract), with only eight of those months worked. I started my winter vacation last week; I go back to work the first Monday of March.
