Money talks. If CBS gets the OK, the schools have no say. The network is in charge. They will promote it heavy, like the national championship game. They will have 2 full weeks to build it up. It will be a spectacle.
Heck no. But what's the issue? If CBS makes the necessary agreements with ESPN and whoever else is involved, they are in charge. The schools play when the network says.
The schools play when the SEC says. I'm not saying it's impossible, just unlikely. Since we are accustomed to playing in the afternoon, I say if it ain't broke don't fix it.
CBS pays the SEC for rights to select the afternoon game and one prime time game. Any game not picked up by CBS is then televised on the ESPN family of networks. I think there are provisions on the maximum number of times a team can appear on CBS. Don't quote me, I think it's 5. Once again, I'm not saying us playing Bama in prime time on CBS is impossible, just highly unlikely in my opinion.
