With Alabama deciding it was no longer interested in Anthony Dixon, the 4-star running back has added LSU back on his list. He says his choice is now between Mississippi State and LSU. He is still leaning toward Mississippi State and is not sure if he will take his visit to LSU. He indicated he would make a decision about that after his Mississippi State visit this weekend. The chances of LSU landing Dixon are still slim, but better than they were last weekend.
I hope this is not a sign that the coaching staff feels we won't get Keiland Williams... Dixon is good, but not as good as Keiland.
I agree. With Scott and Murphy already in the fold if we get Keiland (who would probably be ready to contribute as a Freshman whereas Scott and Murphy could use a redshirt year), we are a LOT better off than if we get Dixon (who would be in the same situation as Scott and Murphy in that a redshirt might do him some good). I think Dixon is going to Miss. State. I just can't see him coming here knowing that Scott and Murphy would be in the same class. And I ESPECIALLY don't see him coming here if Keiland commits to LSU. Reguardless of where Dixon actually ends up (I won't turn away a 4-star running back as long as he's not taking a scholarship from another player at a position that we need--especially with two 4-star running backs already coming), but I think Dixon's interest in LSU helps us with Keiland. If Keiland truely wants to play for LSU, this may get him to commit sooner rather than later.
I agree whole heartedly. We need Williams much more than we need Dixon. I also believe that Dixon will commit to Mississippi State and probably will not take his visit to LSU. But officially, LSU is back in the mix and that was my point. I hope you are right about Dixon re-entry into the LSU recruiting picture will encourage Williams to go ahead and commit to LSU. We badly need another 5-star recruit if we expect to rise in rankings. I feel McCoy is a long-shot for LSU.
Well, I recall everyone saying Jai was LSU! bound for the AAA game right up until he put on a Michigan hat.... :dis:
Yeah, we need another 5-star recruit to solidify this class as the great class we believe it is...or should be. I think McCoy as a "long-shot" for us is also generous at this point. Unless someone other than Dunbar was recruiting him.
Bama currently has 12 running backs returning next season plus a 5-star commitment in this year's class. I don't know for certain that that's the reason, but it seems to be the lodgical guess...
