from the athletic: The entire gameplan revolved around being able to run the ball, like it did for 276 yards against a pretty good South Carolina defense. Instead, LSU’s three running backs combined for 29 yards on 15 carries. “We tried,” Ed Orgeron said. “We couldn’t block those guys. And you know, I’ve seen other people block their fronts. I really was surprised we couldn’t block them.”
We’re getting what we deserve, then. Orgeron promised cream-of-the-crop coordinators and staff. Turns out replacing a guy who left to be a NFL coordinator with the E-L combo and the guy who left for a big time HC gig with a guy who hasn’t had success in a decade is working abysmally so far. Since one of O’s strengths is supposed to be running the HR department, that reflects poorly on him. As we sink deeper into the tank, 2019 increasingly becomes an anomalous blip.
You know you are right this is a place to share opinions. With that said and agreed on a lot of opinions here suck. My opinion is you don't talk about firing the HC who brought the greatest college football team maybe ever and expect talk like that will improve this team. Talk like that will destroy this team. Talk like that will destroy recruiting. Talk like that will put us in a death spiral that would take us a decade to regain. You back your coach in the middle of the season and rely on him to correct the problems. You guys act like O doesn't know where the problems are! You guys aren't helping shit. I will let O handle this and I expect him to fix it.
It was not a bad start. Marshall had 2 key drops on the 1st drive. I liked the pass to Carter backed up inside the 5 on the 2nd drive. But as Steele made adjustments, Ensminger didn’t. That’s where not having the full playbook due to the true freshman QB hurt us. After fumble scoop and score we just looked like we knew we lost. Then after the opening TD drive of the 2nd half the entire team quit. That was more disappointing than anything else.
The shit performance by the team is infinitely more impactful to recruiting than fans who are concerned about the shit performance. It’s actually a good thing to have fans who care. If we weren’t saying anything, that’d be worse.
They don’t read this board. You’re not that important to them. Is this your long play? Is this where you’re going to point if Coach O can’t turn it around? He fell apart because of what he, the players and recruits were reading on TigerFan.com?
I just don’t see any creativity in the running game. If our OL is struggling and our passing game is ineffective, running up the gut repeatedly isn’t great.
Play calling Is the problem? I was waiting for this one from you. My age shows here in many ways but your youth and inexperience is as obvious as a turd in a punch bowl.
