Eh. Not so fast my friend. DB are a different animal. They ebb and flow. Just the nature of the position. Plus an ineffective/absent QB pressure makes that position about a trillion times harder. A decent receiver can get open on just about any DB with enough time and good QB play.
Funny, I was thinking about this earlier this week, wondering where Stingley was. No INTs in 5 games.
Lost 34 players and 4 coaches (one of which was much more important than most thought) Very poor hire in Bo Pelini Lost some key leaders on both sides of the ball to opt outs a few weeks before the season starts QB gets injured and our back ups are true freshman No real leaders anywhere on the field, sideline and most likely locker room. Fielded a team full of youth with no real off-season who just looks unprepared and uninspired.
Saban is in his 14th season at Bama he's got a 158-23 record, 5 NCs & a 92-15 SEC record. Orgeron has a 42-12 record at LSU, 1 NC & 25-10 SEC record. I see no comparison, in any way. I don't understand why he's making $9 million per year, about 400K less than Saban & also has a ridiculous buyout clause. I wish someone could explain why & how LSU did this. How did they get bamboozled into tying themselves & the fans to this guy. All my Oeaux BS aside, I'm really concerned for the future of the LSU Football Program.
Appreciate the advice but I have 2 words for you- Brian Kelley. Respectable but not LSU level. At least so far...
Add to all of this the BLM related crap that happened early on and you have a scenario that any coach could not succeed in. I feel sorry for Coach O. Is he one of the great coaches? No, but he's better that many of you are giving him credit for. He needs to fire Pelini yesterday to make the first step in turning this ship around. There is still a future for this team, we just may not see it this year.
