Coming to Atlanta? Your LSU Alumni chapter has put together a quick fan guide with usefull info and links. :helmet: http://www.lsuatlanta.com/node/103 Plan to join us at Engine 11 on Tuesday, Dec. 30th starting at 8 pm for our "Bash Buzz" party featuring the infamous Evil Twins as guest emcees. No cover. Everyone will have a chance to win door prizes including a replica jersey and two tickets to the Downtown Countdown superparty on New Year's Eve at the Hyatt Regency after the game. Also we have our Official Bowl Tailgate Bar at Sidebar, just four blocks from CNN Center in easy walking distance to the Dome. Both Engine 11 and Sidebar are donating a portion of bar sales to our scholarship endowment fund, so they are supporting LSU while you party!! Two other businesses are rolling out the P&G carpet and supporting LSU Atlanta, Max Lager's Brewery Rest. and Pittypat's Porch (which has a kickass southern lunch buffet on the 31st.) Thanks, drive safely and GEAUX TIGERS!! LSU! P.S. Admins, can you put a sticky on this as many will find it usefull? Thanks!
Thanks Jimbeaux, and thanks for promoting the Ga. license plate for LSU supporters. We need a lot more people to reserve theirs for only $25 before the state will produce them and we need to make sure every LSU fan (you don't have to be an alum) that wants one knows about it. We now have business cards for people to hand out and stick under windshield wipers of Ga. cars with LSU decals and marks to spread the word. When you come to the party ask the emcee for a handful you can take back up to Canton to spread to the right people. BTW my son is a senior at Reinhardt College in your area. He was born in B.R. and wears LSU gear all the time! C Ya there!! :geaux:
As a native Atlatnan, let me suggest you guys disregard the fan guide's suggestion and skip the downtown Peach drop. There are plenty of fun things to do, but that isn't one if them.
Absolutely correct. We had to include a link for info but the entry was written in a way that does not really recommend it. (Don't try MARTA and the long walk to get there plus emphasis that you can watch the Peach Drop from live TV.) Plus Underground Atlanta is a shell of its former self and the places that are there now will be jammed. Both of our recommended bars are in easy walking distance after the game to ring in the New Year. Max Lager's is the nicer of the two, good food and bar/upstairs area for partying but kids OK in the restaurant portion, and Sidebar will be the crazy let-it-all-hang-out joint to raise hell. Might want to rewrite that to stress the point even more about the Peach Drop. Thanks.:geauxtige
Yeah, I just didn't want anybody to get a bad impression of the city after standing in that jam-packed crowd to see something pretty stupid happen. The bars you suggested sound like the play here, or if you are a live music fan there are dozens of good shows going on that night. After the game I'll be headed to Little 5 points to see two local bands play at Star Bar. But like I said, there will be plenty to do, so no need to stand around Underground, which is a shell of its former self like Moon said, to watch such a pointless endeavor. Here's to a good game and everybody having a great time in my hometown.
Email me at [email protected] and we'll figure out how to get it done if you aren't coming to the party as I suggested. Thanks for actively promoting this using the artwork in your sig. We need to get the word out far and wide. UF, Bama, AU, Clemson in addition to GT and UGA already have their plates in circulation. There has to be 1,000 LSU fans in this state that want a plate, we just have to reach them!!
