Radio Network reports JD injury is a knee bruise from a knee-to-knee hit, not the awkward slide on that scramble. Not a serious injry.
Keep running, and risk of getting crushed keeps goin up. Also, very apparent he is our only option at QB right now.
Well, then you have to let him play his game. JD is not going to sit in the pocket and pick secondaries apart. He has to run to be effective. The good news is he has consistently been able to deliver at the most critical times. The bad news is, well, we saw him limp into the tent tonight. The wake up call for the staff (part one) should be they better find a way to get Nuss ready asap, because sooner or later, he's going to be needed (like tonight). We're going to have to look very different in a Nuss offense to be successful, and he's not ready yet. Part two of the wake up call is, they had better start working with this WR group. They are not helping their QB at all. Now some might consider what I'm about to say to be blasphemy, but here goes......Joe Burrow did not throw every pass perfectly. Certainly he was more accurate than JD, but more to the point, when he was off he got help from JJ, Chase, Terrace, etc. Our current receivers struggle to catch the ball when it hits them between the numbers.
This for sure. I went back and watched the down field area as much as I could. On top of not getting to balls and catching them, they are covered. Covered like a blanket. JD is running a lot because there is no one open to throw to. Not sure if they are too slow, the routes are too simple, they are not running their routes properly or/and the route designs are too predictable. On a side note, the D better start or learn to play some man to man back there. Most SEC QB's/OC and receivers will pick that soft zone apart. And the penalties are killing us. This team is not very good right now but they found a way to win an SEC road game. Luck or Auburn really that bad doesn't matter it's a W.
