Both Auburn defensive end Corey Lemonier and safety Demetruce McNeal said comments from LSU fullback J.C. Copeland were cited by the coaching staff this week and will serve as extra motivation against No. 2-ranked LSU.

LSU fullback J.C. Copeland had criticized the toughness of Auburn players:

“After the first couple of hits, everybody (on Auburn’s defense) was just backing up. They didn’t want to hit at all. (…) Before I got to them, they just fell down and just laid on the ground,” Copeland said. “I actually said, ‘C’mon man, you’re better than that. C’mon, hit me.’ That was like the only game I went home and had no nicks and bruises at all.”

“It’s just a huge disrespect to us,” Lemonier said. “We’re just going to use that as momentum going in there firing."

Tiger_fan --- I really value your posts which sure point out that Auburn should not be taken lightly. At some point, your opinion on how you see the game playing out would be appreciated.

All the motivation in the world doesn't help much if you're still a giant pussy.

Yep, Auburn had no motivation whatsoever to upset #2 at home before Chizik dug up a quote from last year's game. Give me a break.

i honestly have no idea how the game is going to play out. it's like Brees said, every game takes a mind of it's own. and then Will Smith said pretty much the exact same thing recently

    here's a look at Auburn's 4 talented RBs and their All-American FB...

    College Football News:
--"The (Auburn) running backs will combine for 2,000 yards (this season)...they’ll be great."
--"Strength: The rotation. The Tigers are loaded with quick, athletic backs who all had tremendous high school résumés. McCalebb, Mason, Grant and Blakely are all legitimate SEC backs who can all produce when given the chance."

    #23 Onterio McCalebb (5-11, 173), Senior
--currently has 3,736 career all-purpose yards -- needs 192 more to be Top 5 in Auburn history
--had 1,323 all-purpose yards last year (101.8 per game)... this year he is averaging 131.7 per game
--currently has 2,230 career rushing yards on 343 carries (averaging 6.5 yards per carry), needs 105 more to be Top 10 in Auburn history
--currently #1 in Auburn history with a career 29.4 yard per kickoff return average (he returned one for a TD this season vs Miss State, and did the same last season vs Alabama)
--needs 78 more kickoff return yards to be Top 5 in Auburn history in career kickoff return yards
    as a recruit:
    --Rivals #13 all-purpose back, 4-star
    --Scout 4-star RB, #283 on the Scout300
--offers to Florida State, Michigan, West Virginia, Clemson, Auburn, North Carolina, etc

#22 Mike Blakely (5-9, 206), 2nd year at Auburn (had to redshirt last season because initially signed with Florida then changed his mind)
    --Rivals #6 RB, 4-star, #40 on the Rivals100
    --ESPN #7 RB, 4-star, #74 on the ESPN100
    --Scout #10 RB, 4-star RB, #86 on the Scout100
    --U.S. Army All-American
--offers to Southern Cal, Florida, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson, Iowa, Miami, North Carolina, etc

#20 Corey Grant (5-11,200), 3rd year in NCAA (2nd at Auburn, 1 at Bama before that...had to redshirt last season because he transferred)
    --ESPN #5 all-purpose back, 4-star, #180 on the Rivals200
    --Scout 4-star RB, #266 on the Scout300
--two-time Alabama 6A State 100-meter champion and also won the 200 meters
--offers to Bama, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Stanford, Georgia Tech, etc

    #21 Tre Mason (5-10, 198), 2nd year at Auburn
    --Rivals 4-star RB, #199 on the Rivals200
    --Scout 4-star RB, #282 on the Scout300
    --ESPN 4-star RB
--offers to Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, West Virginia, Auburn, Texas A&M, etc
--#1 in the SEC last year with 26.4 yds per kickoff return
--his 633 kickoff return yards last year was 5th-best in Auburn history for a single-season
--College Football News: "He’s a great talent...he should make a huge impact (this season)...(he) is a speed back who dominated as a kickoff returner (last season)...his game is about quickness."

and clearing the way for the above four is...

#35 FB Jay Prosch (6-0, 260), 3rd year in NCAA (1st at Auburn, 2 at Illinois before)
--was an First-team All-American FB last year for Illinois
--currently rated the #5 FB in the nation by NFL Draft Scout
--NCAA allowed him to transfer to Auburn without having to sit out a year to be closer to his mother who was diagnosed last year with cancer (they are from Mobile, AL)
--he's going to be extra pissed off when it comes to hitting people because his mother died recently from the cancer (she died about 2 weeks ago)
--College Football News: "The 6-0, 253-pound blaster of a blocker earned All-America honors for the Illini as a great blocker and a special teamer, and now his job will be to hit someone. He’ll never touch the ball, but he should be a key part of the running game and a fan favorite with his physical style"
--Auburn blogger: "he is as important to the Tigers as submarines are to the U.S. Naval fleet. Prosch had his hands in every rushing score the Tigers had (last game). On McCalebb’s long rushing touchdown, Prosch cleared the way of three defenders. Auburn always has a way to find a rushing lane with Prosch in the football game. He is extremely powerful, but his effort is what stands out the most."
