I would too. If he wins out he definitely deserves consideration. I don't want Jimbo, and I like Herman just not sure he is ready for a big program yet. I think experience, which O has had in the SEC, goes a long way when playing in this league. Not are we the toughest conference but we are in the toughest side of that conference. How many other teams (outside the sec west) could survive with only a couple losses if they had an SEC West schedule, maybe 5 in the nation could run that gauntlet successfully. You have to know this conference to navigate it year in and year out, O knows what it takes. With some staff changes on the offensive side of the ball I think he could be the guy. His recruiting and defensive would keep him in it. I have no confidence in Alleva doing this right.

A lot can happen in two weeks. At least this search has been more behind the scenes and not aired out publicly. If O finishes strong there is no way he won't be in the conversation. I really don't want Jimbo, he's a very slight upgrade over Miles at best. Herman at least has the potential to be the next great one. If O commits to a quality OC and a mostly hands off policy I'd rather him over Jimbo. If he runs the table and looks good doing it, the gig should be his.

    I don't want Jimbo. My updated list goes 1. Meyer, 2. Herman, 3. O.

Urban Meyer is not walking through those purple and gold doors. Herman hasn't done enough to prove he can consistently win at a top tier power. He is a gamble. Get over your man-crush. I got over mine. Give me Jimbo or give me Oeaux. I really don't understand what some fans have against Jimbo considering what he hhas done at FSU and the way he develops QB's. 4 1st round QB's

I think Meyer is a better developer of QBs then Fisher. Look what Meyer did season before last when his starter went out, and turned a WR into a passing threat. He's shown he can develop a good power spread offense but knows the importance of a strong defense. But yes, I am aware he will not leave tOSU to come to baton Rouge. Just a pipe dream of mine.

I also agree that Herman does not have the experience and winning ability at a top tier program, but he has shown his ability to turn things around at a program with lesser talent at a lesser program. Look at what he did to Choklahoma at the beginning of this season. I also believe that the few losses he has suffered this season at UH stems from the uncertainty of his HC status at the end of this year. It has to be playing a role in the heads of his players. I also think with his ties to the Houston area and TX as a whole, that he could come into LSU and not only keep most if not all of this recruiting class in tact, he could also bring in some big time recruits not on the radar at this time. Sometimes you just have to take a gamble.

I also like Coach O, and think he brings something to this LSU team not seen in a long time. But past coaching stops as HC isn't exactly flattering of his abilities. As interim yes he has done well. If he wins out tho, he can not just be passed over for the job either.

A national championship, another playoff appearance, multiple ACC titles and 3 of his QB's were developed into first round picks

Herman is potentially a 10 year hire. Not understanding the notion he wouldn't be able to recruit. How many did les pull from la. While at Oklahoma st?? Herman will recruit very well here and be able to retain Amanda.

His accomplishments look very similar to Les Miles but in a weaker conference. He does do better developing QBs though. Miles is a better recruiter. i just don't see him as an upgrade. More like the SOS in a different suit.
