Let's really look at numbers there. From 2000-2005, the 6 year stretch before O was hired, Ole Miss recruiting classes were ranked 41, 23, 26, 32, 39, and 29. Other than 2003, their W/L record was nothing to write home about and in 2004, Cutliffe managed only 3 SEC wins plus just 1 OOC win. Hardly stellar. In O's second year recruiting as HC, their class was ranked at 15. But having a solid freshman class doesn't necessarily translate to wins on the field. He got 3 years and didn't get it done but other than that first year, they didn't recruit that much better....from 2005-2007, they were ranked 29, 15, and 31. He wasn't ready then but that was a decade ago. However, it is laughable to say it's the same payola today that existed then. Other than 2012 when their recruiting class was ranked 58 (I think Freeze had only taken over the prior December), their numbers have been on a much higher scale. From 2009-present, they have recruit classes ranked at 17, 15, 20, 58, 10, 18, 16, and 5. That is not the same result and neither are their season-end rankings. It's pretty clear....recruiting classes result in wins and Ole Miss came out of oblivion basically, to become a national contender. But you think it's the same recruiting process? Lol. You never can tell. But looking at his results from 10 years ago isn't a smart call. He'll have 7 more games to earn the job. If he's winning at that point, I don't see how you don't go with one who HAS the job and HAS experience.
I would say chances are ... but it doesn't fit. What makes me laugh is your laughing at a comment I made about Ole Miss and recruiting. Remember who you're talking to before you jump.
