I will have a better guess after this weekend. I know Florida is no Bama but if he rolls Florida I'd say coach O is here to stay.
This is so lacking in actual analysis. USC is the one Pac team that has a winning record against the SEC (minus Bama). Besides, when he took over at USC, we were still suffering from a sanction-sized roster. We had NO depth. By the time we got to the end of the season, 1st team players were playing the entire game. Still, he lost to ucla and the irish. That was the official excuse but we know Haden didn't want a Cajun.
I don't think they will let Orgeron get away. He isn't going anywhere if there are no better options to be had. I still have doubts about Coach O tho. Really like his intensity and the fact that he recruits very well. Just wonder if he is cut out for a major head coaching gig. Defensive coordinator or line coach yes. Head figure in charge of making the main decisions, just don't know. I would love to see him give it hell and win out tho. Fingers crossed Alleva doesn't screw things up.
FWIW, I never heard Lane say this but did hear Battle say it twice. Lane was given a raise back in the middle of the summer bumping him to 1.4 (competitive with the market.) Battle said the last payment was the last of June, 2016 and the 1.4 covers him 'til the end of Feb.
That's an unrealistic expectation. It's not impossible, but no one should be expected to take over this team during the season and beat Bama. If he wins every game except Bama, but is competitive against them it would be hard to argue that he hasn't earned a shot. If he has to beat Bama to get the job or if he really isn't under consideration, he should have been told up front by Alleva.
