The way LSU has played in bowl games under Miles. I not only would put money, but have put money on LSU. I'm about 80% sure, with the other 20% lost only out of respect for how long JoePa has been coaching the same team. 10-3 baby. NC next year. Merry X-Mas and a happy new year. See ya in 2010!
Gripe and complain all we want, but none of us have the right to doubt a Miles led team with a month to prepare. Nobody expected what we did to Miami. Few expected what we did to Notre Dame. Fewer expected what we did to tOSU. And NOBODY expected what happened against GT last year...with the way our defense played last year. Bottom line, like it or not...Miles will have the team ready to play PSU...and I say the Tigers win handily.:geaux:
What I'd like to ask is who above was griping & complaining? Who above was doubting Miles ability to prepare a team for a bowl game? And the topper is like it or not that Miles will have them prepared. Did you get out of the above that some of us will be unhappy if Miles has the team prepared and we beat PSU? If so then please copy those quotes because I didn't get ANY of that out of it.
This is a nightmare game for me as I have been a Penn State and LSU fan for years and years. (Fortunately they ALMOST never play each other!!!) I think both Miles and Paterno are two coaches that are excellent at preparing for a bowl game. This should be a great game, but it will be a typical Big 10/SEC matchup in that it will be interesting to see if the Tigers team speed is too much for the Lions. The Lions lost to both Iowa and Ohio State because of more physical and athletic defensive lines of both. I know it sounds simple, but I really think that the offensive line that can impose thier will is the ultimate winner of this game. WE ARE PENN STATE! :geaux:
Well, i believe LSU can win this game, but not by a blowout. The best chance is if they are able to get pressure and hit darryl clark and force him into bad decisions. He's rattled easily, as you saw in the Iowa and ohio state losses, i just say pound the ball and wear out PSU's D. Oh and please no 20 yard sacks of Jordan Jefferson? K. thanks
You know, there are meds for multiple personality disorder...take your meds, they are your friends !!:hihi:.
Please copy the quote that says I yanked your chain.:dis: My post was not in reaction to any particular post in this thread. My post is accurate, though. There are a lot of people that claim to be LSU fans who are so overly disappointed in this potential 10 win season, and some are such directly due to the fact that a former coach is about to play for the BCS. There were threads on here a month ago calling for Miles' head. Also, John is trying to convince us, the fans, that we should be cautious concerning PSU. In fact, there's not a dayum thing we as fans can do about any of it. I for one will go on trying to figure out if the final will be 38-6 LSU, or if PSU will actually punch one in late. Thanks for the reply...and welcome to the board. :thumb:
Then put a bunch of money on it with a bookie. Oregon ends up winning... you'll be kicking yourself if you don't... Oregon is only currently favored by 3.5 to 4.0...
How will the game be won? -2 good defenses against 2 mediocre offensive lines makes me think whoever pressures the QB into more mistakes wins. What does LSU have to do to beat PSU? -Establish and maintain field position. JoePa plays conservative and is reluctant to open up the offense (or take risks) on his side of the field. If LSU can establish field position, they may be able to keep PSU's offense "bottled up". LSU certainly has the edge in special teams play. What does PSU have to do to beat LSU? -While pressuring your QB comes to mind, I think if PSU can establish a successful ground game it will keep your offense off the field, tire your defense and force LSU out of it's gameplan. When Evan Royster, our starting RB, gets 100+ yards per game, PSU's record is close to perfect. My guess and hope is that the month to get ready for this game give LSU the edge. -PSU has the same amount of time to prepare. While LSU has a great bowl recent the past few years, Paterno's bowl record and record against the SEC isn't too shabby either. It's a great matchup that I think we're all looking forward to.
