let's just say it got really old listening to how great he was.
after all we would have won a MNC in '01 had he been the QB.
oh, and he was good enough to play in NFL, but for some reason decided to join a really low budget indoor team (now defunct) in Houma, and went missing the day before a playoff game.
Turned up a day or so later acting like nothing ever happened, and it was perfectly normal to skip town and not answer any phone calls for a couple days.

    Rohan was a good guy.

But I'm telling you he was horrible in practice. That why it took so long for Him to get on the field. And why he was always at risk of being beaten out.

Game time was a different story though, and everyone knew it so they let him get away with it.

YA Tittle is the greatest QB; however, Doc Fenton (saw all 58 LSU home games) ran the point a minute offense. Doc was consider the best QB in the SEC for a long time.

Fenton is a Hall-of Famer, but its hard to compare him to modern quarterbacks. The forward pass was not legal, Fenton ran the ball mostly.

I can't say who #2 and #3 will be, but #1 is Bert Jones...

My parameters are their career quarterbacking stats, abilities, etc. and not just their time at LSU, so here's my rankings and why:

    1. Y.A. Tittle - Hall of Fame quarterback, gives him the edge
    2. Bert Jones - the Ruston Rifle was an NFL MVP caliber QB
    3. Tommy Hodson - one of the greatest in LSU & SEC history
    4. Rohan Davey - record setter at LSU and NFL QB
    5. JaMarcus Russell - solid career at LSU and 1st round pick
    6. David Woodley - okay LSU and good NFL career
    7. Alan Risher - winner at LSU and USFL, NFL QB
    8. Matt Flynn - NC at LSU and solid backup in the NFL
    9. Warren Rabb - good QB who had a short NFL career
T10. Young Bussey - HB at LSU but QB with Bears and MC Reynolds - average LSU and short NFL career

seems to me that tittle wasnt excellent until those three years with the giants late in his career. even his lsu record is way down the list.

btw. bert jones's completion % is abysmal, and JR's is great. bert must not have thrown INTs.
