It's your show, but the polls can hold like 20 options and the tally is automatic at the top of he page. You'll get a greater number of participants and more feedback as well because there are a lot of people will read over a thread but not post a reply will happily vote in a poll.
After tallying it all up, here's the 6: Cannon Faulk Alexander Hilliard Stovall Addai The problem with a poll is that I'm not sure I would list someone like a Van Buren in the poll at all, while someone put him as their top pick. So I could either do it like this, or I could turn this into a two-step process with a call for nominatons and a top 20 poll. I think the two-step process would get a bit drawn out. What could be done to shorten it is have nominations for one position and a poll for another position going at the same time. I'll think about it.
Does a guy like Joseph Addai really deserve to be on this list? Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan and I am happy for him to have found success at the professional level. I'm just not sure a guy that never started before his senior year and never had a 1,000 yard season can justifiably be listed as one of our all time greats, and honestly, had Ally Broussard not torn up his knee, he never would have been a starter at all. -Edit: I do, however, still contend that had he been healthy for the 2005 SECCG, we would have won.
get this--- and addai is only a hair behind faulk for career yds per rush (#2 in LSU history with 400 minimum rushes) addai has more career receptions than faulk. i find that real surprising given faulk's much greater PT. but for me its more an evaluation of the player not the stats. addai was a great pass protector, was effective between the tackles and could make the corner. was great out of the backfield too.
Wow, I never would have thought that about his receptions. Faulk is known for that. Fair enough assessment. And let's face it, there's really no shame in getting stuck behind guys like Domanick Davis, Justin Vincent, and Ally Broussard. Damn, we've had some fine running backs this decade. Lebrandon Toefield Domanick Davis Joseph Addai Ally Broussard Justin Vincent Jacob Hester Keiland Williams Charles Scott Not to mention the speedsters we have had line up in the back field occasionally, like Shyrone Carey, Skyler Green, and Trindon Holliday. Hopefully Richard Murphy can make a name for himself, too.
