    Next on the list: fullbacks.

Let's try having some nominations, followed by a poll to determine the players for the position.

Nominations will last until sometime tomorrow (basically whenever I get on and make the poll).

Kelly Simmons -- made an All-American out of Charles Alexander with his blocking and averaged over 5 yards a carry himself.

Jacob Hester -- best-all-around back I've seen in many years

Art Cantrelle -- almost as good a fullback as he was a bar fighter

Didn't Earl Gros play Full Back, blocking for Stovall.

I don't think that Dinardo used him to his potential. Especially receiving out of the backfield and making him put on all that weight.

Jim Taylor, no close second. The others were great, but Taylor was greater. Of course, I'm thinking a lot about Lombardi's Packers. Representing LSU in the NFL must count for something. I think he may still be Green Bay's all-time leading rusher. He was, and still is I'm sure, one tough dude. You hardly ever see blood on a jersey anymore. You did back then.

I'm not sure who all of these kids who played ball before I was born are, but the first in my mind is Jacob Hester, simply because after Tommy Banks he was the great LSU fullback I've known of.
