Very, very much so. I have to deal with the guys at a TV station we own (real job) in the San Maria, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo area. While they tend to try to disguise those feelings, it's clear as day. If I wasn't calling from the corporate office...no telling how far the conversations might digress. It's tempting to sign correspondence, "OK, whatever you say..." I got to know USCvball quite well over the years. She is, and maybe the only, exception I've come across. I've never looked, but I'd bet the Cali kids who do come south originally hail from a region other than that area.
She posted this, and a few others, before the 2012 Rose Bowl. ---------------------- Mr. Duck, what is up with LaMichael? Now, go beat Wisconsin.
Ole Miss is in the dumps right now, but that's no thanks to Orgeron. He left a fair bit before that team turned downhill. Recruiting takes time to show on the field, and they were good a few years after he left(McCluster, Snead). He also was a part of two of the most dominant teams in the past 20 years while they were on top(Miami, USC). Now he has brought USC back to the top. To say he's not one of the best recruiters of the past 20 years seems inaccurate.
Snead: Florida lean, committed to Texas and then transferred because of Colt. McCluster, was one of those lucky finds. West Virginia was probably his biggest offer. Jerrell Powe was a good one. Brent Schaeffer was mediocre, at best. AJ Jackson was a pretty good JUCO transfer. He signed almost an entire roster in three years. Other than those I've mentioned, who else was there of note? I know some will point to the class brought in at UT. But to that I ask, how many are still playing or in any school? FWIW, putting him in the same group with Garner at UGA isn't a criticism. Garner has historically done a pretty good job. I just don't see the time he spent at Ole Miss as a reason to say he's one of the best in the country. It's just how I see him. I can't think of any player Orgeron was recruiting that made me worry he might commit to Ole Miss.
Chicks got extremely long arms.... That's exactly what Lamichael's face will look like when he goes up against some of the better linebackers in the NFC.
