i loved istening to all the oregon hype the last 3 years. how the Auburn and LSU defenses were no match for the no huddle offense. oregon was to fast. USC is more of the same bullshit. easy to brag about how good the qb is until that SEC defense starts raping him in the backfield. Defense wins Championships but it takes offense to score points. if you put USC on the field with LSU, Bama or probably even Arky right now, they would get their asses handed to them with a bag of oranges and a box of kleenex. Here's to a new QB and a 14-0 season. GEAUX TIGERS!!! S! E! :D C!

I wouldn't put too much confidence into arky's defense this year after everyone they lost on that side of the ball from last season. Not to mention losing their TOP 4 starting receivers.

The right side of their defense should be pretty good with the return of Tenarius Wright and Highsmith. Those two are backed by a decent corner in Winston.

They definitely don't have a Bequette on the roster and Highsmith alone can't fill in for both Jerico Nelson and Jerry Franklin.

They actually return two of their top four receivers from last year; Hamilton and Gragg are back. They lost their top two, Adams and Wright, along with Childs who had as many receptions as Dennis Johnson had out of the backfield last season.

IF they get some breaks, say Penn Wagers crew calling one of their close games, I can see them maxing out at 5-3 in conference. Their biggest loss is without a doubt Petrino calling the plays. I'm far from convinced his brother Paul can even find the shoes Bobby stood in, much less wear them.

On a side note Vegas has Miss. St. finishing third in the west at this point at 5-3 with Arkansas coming in at 4-4.

Vegas (well, OSB's to be exact) has LSU opening at -3.5 against Arkansas this year. I'm all over that one. I didn't look in detail, but I'm guessing it is +110 or +120.

Well, I live amongst the piggie faithful, and anytime I see them experience mental anguish due to their athletic programs, it brings me exceptional joy. ;)

I suspected you had a lot of contact with them.

I have a good friend who follows Arkansas avidly. Because of our friendship, I don't like seeing him disappointed.

Now, on the other hand? I've seen plenty of 'Backs fans that I feel completely different about. I used to consider Ole Miss fans to be some of the worse smack talkers in the world with nothing to back up their diatribes. Most Arkansas fans trump that level in spades.

I feel comfortable saying Bama beats them in week three. What I'm really looking forward to is seeing what happens if they drop their week four game, at home, against Rutgers. Then at Kyle field, then at Jordon-Hare...

2-0 could be 2-4 before we blink. Can you imagine the uproar if they lose to the Scarlet Knights?

Yep. That's because the pig nation want so bad to run with the big boys that they're willing to sell their souls and bang their siblings to get there.

Not to mention USC is in Los Angeles, the media capital of the world. If you have a big ego, this is the Hollywood school with all of the private money, and movie stars, and film school, and surfing, and the Sunset Strip, and the night life, etc.

Compare that glitter to a college town like Tuscaloosa, Auburn, or Norman, Oklahoma or a state capitol city like Austin or Baton Rouge and you can see why some athletes see the appeal of LA.

I've also heard it said that it is hard to recruit black talent out of LA to the SEC because they are prejudiced against both white southerners AND black southerners.
