While no explanation of the remarkable lack of wit in the original post is necessary, I’ll humor the guy just for the fun of it. The difference, danthecajunfan, is that we make fun of ULL because they’re trying to claim to be something they’re not (i.e. the Univ. of La.). If they would just accept their place as a second-rate, directional Louisiana school, we probably wouldn’t give them such a hard time about it. But your adaptation of the moniker “LSU A&M” is incredibly unfunny because “LSU” is just a shortening of our official title, not us trying to be something we’re not. See the difference?
I am not being a bully for making fun of USL for changing their name in a rather feeble attempt to pretend to be something they've been told they're not; they changed it to ULL, and constantly drop the last 'L' in an attempt to portray themselves as the flagship university in the UL system. They're not the flagship, and have been specifically told so by the state, and specifically told that all institutions in the UL system must keep their regional/city designation in their name. YET, they continue to try to pretend the 'L' standing for Lafayette doesn't exist. I think the practice of calling themselves UL is stupid. I also think that Auburn's having three mascots is stupid, and I will make fun of them this year, as always, for not being able to make up their mind on a tiger, eagle, or plainsman. And for the record, I won't consider making fun of them for that bullying either.
Bullies? what are we, in kindergarten? Do we give every team in D1-A a participation ribbon? Maybe we can have our D just stand around and let them score a few times, just to make them not feel totally worthless. And We'll all cheer with the USL fans when they score. While were at it, why dont we donate some more money to them. They obviously have never recovered from the horrible tragedy of basing their school in lafayette. Then afterward both teams will go to mcdonalds and we'll all get happy meals and ice cream sundays. You used to be cool Dan....
