I think once we beat Auburn, we will be 8-0, and will have knocked off a team ranked higher than us .. that is, if they beat AR, .. then, we will jump in the polls. If AR beats Auburn next week, we will jump in the polls as well. Bama has a couple of interesting games comming up. Ole Miss .. "could" ... not likely, but "could" pull out a win against Bama. TN .. well, who knows. .. probably not. As a previous poster said .... just win the games ... the polls will take care of themselves. If we knock off Bama and Auburn, we will be ranked #1. I think this is entirely possible. The only team I'm worried about is AR .. but, if we can sack Mallet enough times, he'll win the game for us. :geaux:
Yeah, Im fine with the rankings...Im more concerned about the SEC team rankings overall. We need to keep our conference ranked as high as possible. Especially this year.
You are correct Sir!! One Loss or not beating Bama/Nick equals credibility in pollsters eyes. The higher the ranking the bigger our bump. Three teams in the SEC west in the top 10, and we all still have to play each other. All of a sudden the year looks a lot more fun. A week ago who wudda thought!!
And for a truly meaningless but fun statistic, there are only two teams in the SEC that are already bowl eligible. The LSU Tigers and the birdtigers.
fair enough, but he hasn't seemed to be the same player since he struck the pose. just sayin'. i just stuck that in there, my point was that red saying our offensive incompetence was the reason why we didn't jump AU is bonk. offense looked pretty good against a really good defense.
