As others have noted on some of the other threads last night/today, LSU is not the only team with issues. I think regarding voting, the coaches (and most likely the writers who vote in the AP Poll) see that Fournette was a beast again and LSU won by 3 TD's. I think we as fans dissect the game to the "Nth degree" and the voters don't. That said, can we improve? I'll answer with a resounding yes. In any case, we're a top 5 team right now.
Surprised Bama only moved up from 13 to 10. I do not believe OU should have jumped them. A&M almost jumped Bama as well. As it stands, LSU has to play #10, #11, #12 and #13 teams in their last 7 games. Odd to see LSU the #1 ranked SEC team, 5 spots clear of the 2nd best ranked team.
Coaches poll is a joke. Y'all are right about Fournette, but if they look at the box and see 80 yards passing, 4/12 completions, and 1 interception, that's a huge red flag, even if you didn't watch the game.
Hard to see LSU coming out of that stretch without 2 losses which was what I had predicted for this season.
Fournette deserves a Top 5 ranking, the rest of the team doesnt. We'll lose at least three conference games.
Exactly. Enjoy top 5 while it lasts. We haven't beaten a team that is ranked today. We have big issues in all phases. We have an opportunity to bring it all together but if we keep playing like the last two weeks, we're toast.
