I hope your analysis is right...this game worries me in a very peculiar way. The start time, road game against the new kid on the block, the bizarre atmosphere and stigma associated with the team and its fans. Plus this win is a must to set us up for "Game of the Century 2". I want the stars to align over Tiger Stadium come Nov. 3rd. LSU-31 A&M-24
I live in the middle of a maroon and white ocean and all I've heard from the neighbors is 'johnny-this' n 'johnny that'. From what I've seen the kid is quick and doesn't hesitate to take off. Wouldn't surprise me if they get up on us early but Chief will work it out at halftime and we pound the ball on the other side down the stretch. Tigers win 27-17. We gotta win - I'm gonna be out of town all weekend and I don't wanna come home to a rolled yard.
We used to have major issues with running qb's. Now, our linebackers are playing great football, and I think we won't have too much trouble in that department unless we just blow assignments.
30-13 LSU Our offense explodes for 30 points and our D stifles their freshman QB. He is held under 50 yards rushing and under 150 yards passing and taken out of the Heisman race like we do to so many Heisman hopefuls. Mett has a steady game and we give them a heavy dose of Ware, Hilliard, and Hill all night long.
Aggies have turned the ball over 8 times in the last 2 games. Hopefully LSU's defense takes advantage of this......and takes care of the ball on offense.
I hope so, however this worries me more than anything. The faster our D gets into the backfield gives him a better shot to squirt out for a big gain. If we are overly aggressive it will bite us in the ass.
If you think back to last week, our defense played a lot of containment with Shaw, not over-persuing him. I'm pretty sure that will be our gameplan with Johnny Football (God, I hate that nickname), as well.
