Red if LSU could just play these games on your paper I believe they could win it all.

It is about who's gone and who's coming back, and it's really about what you've already established with the identity of your team. I honestly don't believe Miles these last two seasons even knows what the offense does best.

Miles recently said they are going back to a greater commitment to the running game. Given that's been your personality through the championship runs and your team was built for it, why did it take two years to get back? You decide who you are every day of practice not on game day.

I think if LSU nation saw this smash mouth physical running team dominate throughout the games again they could deal with the record which isn't that bad. They also would start feeling better about the future because it works.

It seems you want to throw a good quarterback out there with this offensive philosophy and your back to the promise land. Don't see it even though it takes a good QB.

And on yours, LSU cannot win at all.

Hooray for you. I honestly don't think you are an unbiased observer.

It didn't take two years. Scott was a 1,000 yard rusher last season and LSU was #4 in the SEC in rushing. It was this season that the running game stalled, initially because of an underperforming offensive line, later because the lack of a passing game enabled opponents to stack the box, and finally because LSU lost its top three running backs to injury by the late season. LSU has been successful for 10 years under Fisher and Crowton running a balanced offense. The last two years, due to Perrilloux's dismissal, LSU has had an ineffective passing game and lost the balance needed to succeed in the SEC. One cannot be one-dimensional against SEC defenses.

LSU is not going to become a Big 10-style power rushing team, rather it must regain its balance and be able to run and pass and not be the one-dimensional team of 2009.

LSU has been a good quarterback away from a BCS bowl finish the last two seasons. A child can see it.

I must be getting close it seems at least on this re write it's more about the messenger than the message.

Speaking of bias, Please. You and your re writes.

LSU's commitment to the run hasn't been the same since Lee started giving pick 6's to anyone who would get in line.

My Bias is saying exactly what Miles is now planning to do, run the Freakin football. That puts my bias at least two years ahead of the Hat

Ill agree with this. Maybe not the exact time, but we havent been committed to the ground game for a while.

People say Miles has balls for risky plays. It takes a bigger pair to run the ball consistently. Without it, we'll always have a mediocre down field and PA passing attack.

Nor do I, and a lot of that will depend on the effectiveness of the offensive line.

Here's a couple of questions for everyone. If 38% of JJ's incompletions were caught, how much more effective do you think our offense would have been? How much more output would there have been? Would we have been able to have an offense that moved the ball enough to score more and win some of the games we lost?

Here is the one by Sports Illustrated (the author has a ballot in the AP Poll).

Alabama, Boise State, Ohio State top early 2010 Top 25 rankings - Andy Staples - SI.com

    1 -- Bama

    11 -- Florida

    18 -- UNC

22 -- Georgia ("...they have the talent to compete for a title in the wide-open SEC East...")

23 -- LSU ("Losing offensive tackle Ciron Black and guard Lyle Hitt is huge. Ditto for tailback Charles Scott, linebacker Harry Coleman and safety Chad Jones. But LSU is one of the few programs that can bounce back from losses like that. Remember, the Tigers still have quarterback Jordan Jefferson, linebacker Kelvin Sheppard and Patrick Peterson, who might be the nation's best corner.")

    25 to 30 -- Arkansas

Peterson has the potential to be the nation's best corner; he will be the best corner once he places complete faith in the other 10 guys on the field. Definitely good news on the other players staying, though.

those rankings are crap, but honestly, what did we expect.

The real question is, is LSU not getting any respect because of the coaching blunders from the 09 season?
