Nine- or ten-win seasons may be looked at as a disappointment in this part of the country but still, any expectations for a better win total in 2010 might be pushing reality to some degree with all of the personnel losses. The offense is a complex piece of machinery even when all the parts are there. Even with a OC and identity that is clear and focused this is going to be a challenge to establish immediate success against these SEC defenses. So many have been pointing toward 2010 as the year for the LSU train to get back on track. Based on what? Losing a ton of talent on the offensive side? Sounds complicated and wishful. Short of breaking out the wishbone spread this fall Jefferson can't improve that much. How hard they play and the game strategy they chose will probably be the bigger story over here.
I have read several articles on SI and CBSsports and all of them are saying the same thing. Everyone is predicting a decline even from this year for LSU. IE most people in the media have come to the conclusion LSU is continuing its decent to a mediocre win some lose some type team. We shall see I guess.
It's definitely headed that way. Next year will be pivotal for Miles. Another down year and the clamoring for his head will be much much louder than it is now.
Look at our schedule for next season. Other than the two rent-a-wins with McNeese & UL-Monroe, it's brutal. If we don't see significant improvement out of our offense this fall things could get very ugly in Tiger land.
Can you imagine what will happen if we lose to North Carolina in the opener and have about 200 yards total offense? On the flip side if we come out and beat NC handily and put up a bunch of points and about 400 yards of offense it could be a springboard. We find out very early what we have.
very true I can remember after the 2002 Cotton Bowl and wondered what was happening! 2003 was one of the better Tiger teams! It can all change quickly!
