BTW, I fully am aware that 2003 national championship was a split. LSU won the Crystal. USC simply deserved to PLAY THEM for the crystal.
Congratulations for dominating the pac 10 (12) at least five years ago. 2009 - 9-4 2010 - 8-5 2011 - 10-2 2012 - 7-6 So they have 1 BCS championship and Lane Kiffin to show for all that winning?
What split? There is one crystal football for 2003 and it lives in Baton Rouge. You can't be a national champion if you we're not in the friggin' championship game. Perhaps they deserved to be in the game instead of Oklahoma, but they came in 3rd in the BCS rankings, so tough shit. Auburn deserved to be in the 2004 game, too. But you just can't claim an NC because you think you should have been in the game.
The Associated Press trophy is in Los Angeles. This is an LSU board and LSU is awesome, I'm simply stating the AP Trophy is in LA.
True, discretion always being the better part of valor. This routine only works if you have no dog (pun intended) in the fight and you keep it in StarkVegas.
National Championships are won on the field. We got our Crystal ball on the field. USC got an AP trophy a couple days later after the media voted on it. Good for USC and their AP trophy and best payed players in college football. I'm simply stating that USC never played for the national championship, so they can't claim it.
The AP trophy is meaningless since the advent of the championship game. There are a dozen other polls that are equally meaningless as are their trophies. The BCS was created to end "Split" national championships and it worked as advertised. The champion is who walks away with the crystal football.
I guess we'll agree to disagree about 2003. It was a true "Split" year. Again, this is an LSU board and LSU is awesome. Love this place and your fans.
