What are you suggesting, we win the West with 2 losses and leave Auburn scratching their collective asses with only 1 loss? With an Auburn win over Bama, the cry might well be why they are left out of the championship game.
I understand all of that, just sucks considering we beat them and yet they could potentially be SECC... just another example of what could have been.
Again all I can think of is 2006 when I think of this. Jamarcus and his no scoring at Jordan Hare, and the 5 turnovers against Florida. Arkansas' only loss in the SEC that year was to us, yet they went to Atlanta and got skull drugged. Had we beat Auburn that year, we would have played Florida again, possibly beat them and played Ohio State for the national championship instead of playing Notre Dame in the Sugar.... Lots of what could have been scenarios.
Gotcha. Yeah it looks real funny seeing what is still probably a fairly mediocre Auburn team ranked so high. If we played them again right now, I would expect another 14 point win.
I can see AU losing to UGA, though. And I could see AU beating Bama because they hate them so much and got curb-stomped last year.
Well they are the Missouri of the West. We're all assuming that the fairytale season will come crashing down. Sad thing for Missouri is that they looked the part of being a top 5 team in the nation for the better part of 3+ quarters vs a very good South Carolina team and simply blew it.
