This is a reasonable ranking. I think we'll fall anywhere from #9-#13 in all the major preseason polls.
I'm surprised to see Deangelo Peterson at the weight they listed him as. I thought in the spring when he was just starting to practice at TE he was in the 199-205 lb. range. Talk about beefing up in a short time.
I had Hawkins over Eugene and listed Hawkins as a breakout player in my list and got a little heat. Rivals agrees with me. That kid will have a big year.
LSU anywhere from #5 to #13 is fair to me. Florida, Texas, OU and USC are probably a solid top 4 and anything beyond that is anybody's guess, so pitting LSU as high as #5 is not far fetched (and LSU over USC is even debatable with all their coaching changes and a new untested QB). So, yes, rivals is doing their homework quite well.
I feel like we'll really surprise this year. Definitely, we could (and probably will be) as good or better than the teams that'll be put ahead of us in the top ten to start the year. But that's the price we're going to have to pay for the pathetic '08 season.
If anyone who has kept up with Spring ball can add any input to the depth chart rivals lists here, it would be greatly appreciated. It looks like they got it just about right.
they nailed it. I have T-Bob at the C and Loston on the chart at safety, but outside of that, they nailed it.
