More on point, it's irrelevant to the selection of a BCS National Champion. And definitely the most sought after/most prestigious, I might add.
There is only one National Champion . . . the winner of the national championship game. Being voted #1 in a poll by The Opelika News or the AP is just a ranking, not a championship.
Not to mention Bama dropped just 2 spots after losing to us at home on the 5th. I think all of this accepting or not accepting an AP trophy is nonsense, none of us have anything to do with it. It isn't up to us to decide it. I won't argue about it but I will only point out if their was a playoff it would be settled on the field and NONE of this BS about AP or BCS would matter not to mention Okie State trying to claim something that they clearly aren't entitled too. There is no comparison between, LSU, Alabama and the rest of the pack. The other teams, all of them aren't even in the same league.
pretty much what i was trying to say. the bcs is the system signed on to to recognize a nc. anything else is a nice trophy, but not the national champion.
If only things were so cut & dry. Even winning a Presidential Election does not guarantee someone else won't be named President of the United States.
Since it's inception, ALL Coaches and Universities have sighned on and agree that the BCS Champions are what counts as #1. In 1958 there was no bcs championship so therefore the AP and a couple of others took it upon themselves to crown a champion, it was never agreed upon across all universities like it is now with the BCS.....Therefore thats why I say SINCE the inception of the BCS....no other title means anything!!
Key word . . . SINCE the introduction of the BCS. The BCS was designed to eliminate shared championships, which nobody likes. It has worked.
