there is the ap trophy and there is claiming it as a national championship. as much as it would gag me to take one trophy without the other, if we get one without the other, we shouldnt be claiming it as a nc. it is a trophy, nothing more. it is not a title.. kinda like giving both teams in a little league game one so the losing team doesnt feel bad. for determining the nc, we signed onto a system. imo, if we ask others to recognize that, we must also.
This mentality cracks me up. What does an individual look to accomplish by refusing to recognize that which goes down in the record books? That's denial at it's finest. Regardless if you acknowledge it, the fact still remains.
well now Okie state is stating that they deserve to be #1 in the AP polls if LSU looses to bama....so I guess everyone has an opinion on this one...
That is ridiculous, Oregon throttled Stunford but I expected Okie State to do the same last night because I figured they had the athletes when compared to Stunford and they couldn't do it. Okie State doesn't belong on the same field as LSU or Alabama period.

You don't lose the 'national championship game' and still winthe national championship. That's nonsense. That's also how Bama fans think, so let's not be like that. Championships are determined on the field. Our season is not finished unless we beat the #2 team, which happens to be Bama.
Well said, if we lose, which we won't, we aren't champions. It sucks that Bama got a free ride, but don't blame them, blame the rest of the country for sucking. The AP means nothing anymore. Crystal trophy or nothing at all.
Exactly, which is why I stood by my argument in that Bama was the #2 team in the season after Okie State lost. OSU was #2 and had total control of their destiny but they lost ugly (gave up a 24-7 lead) to a 6-7 team. Even though people didn't want to see a rematch, they would be lying to themselves if these weren't the 2 best teams in the land.
Isn't that so funny? Problem stems from spitting in the air back in 2004. Now they're launching pre-emptive strikes "in case". After we win, they can say, "I wasn't even going to recognize it if it was us (LSU) in that scenario." Course, if it happened, many would embrace it- as would our kids and coach.
