I wouldn't say Cal destroyed Tennessee. The game was close until the end, if I recall correctly. What was the final score? Something like 14 points, I believe...was the difference...at Cal. I really thought they were pretty even, although the consensus in the media was that Cal killed 'em. Brent Musbooger kept bringing up Les Miles' comments about the Pac 10 all game.:rolleye33: As if he was referring to Cal...or Tennessee for that matter. I would like to see Oregon and LSU meet for the title...as I think it would be the most FUN game to watch. I don't think Kansas can win out, but if they do, they would probably jump Oregon. OU and LSU is so 2003. Missouri is the wild card, but it's not really an intriguing matchup to me. I just think it would be poetic justice for LSU to meet a Pac 10 team in the BCSNCG...one way or the other. Even though it isn't USC, it would be the best the Pac 10 has to offer this year against the best the SEC has to offer this year. Of course, there is this little thing called "the remainder of our schedule" that we have to contend with...and it ain't easy. Ole Miss always plays up for us, Arkansas is down but dangerous, and whoever we play in the SECCG will likely be a top 5 team...definitely top 10.
I do agree that most people's perceptions are that the Pac-10 is close behind the SEC and gaining year by year. Everyone knows OU was a fraud in 03 and that LSU and USC would have been a game for the ages. With that said, let's just match up the best of the Pac-10 with the best of the SEC and settle it on the field. I am extremely confident that we win and probably by at least 10 points. Oregon has no defense to speak of and their strength is running the ball, something no one has been able to do all season against our defense. Bring it on.
You're correct on the matchup problems they would have with us. Our strong point is rushing defense, but people seem to overlook our offense...especially our RUSHING offense. I attribute this to the fact that most people outside of LSU fans can't name more than one RB on our team...yet we have 4 or 5 that would start for their team.
And that has what to do with Cal?? I'm not claiming UcheaT is any good...just questioning Cal's dominance over a team that I believe we all agree isn't very good.
The Duck guy said they destroy Tenn, which you and I both disagree with. So I gave him examples of what destroying Tenn really looks like. Scores like 59-20 and 41-17
Crowton came from Oregon, so we should have a good scouting report on the offensive personnel. I'd like to play Oregon; I think it would be entertaining for all.
So if a Pac10 team really did destroy an SEC team on the road and then LSU barely beat THAT team, what would that say? Rhetorical, just making a point.
