I know it's not exactly breaking news, but it's certainly worth it's own thread. 1. LSU (3-0) 2. Arizona St. (3-0) 3. Georgia Tech (3-0) 4. Texas (1-2) 5. Virginia (2-1) 6. Cal. Texas still top 4 in both polls. What a fuggin joke. I am officially done with any and all polls. Cept for them Tiger on top polls. :thumb: :geaux::tigbas::geaux:
Won't say that Texas shouldn't be ranked just after the opening weekend, but it sure ain't the way for the "Season Favorite" to start off the season. On the other hand us starting off 3-0 with a nice 20+ run game in the middle is nice to see us picking up right where we left off.
i dont agree with the bba top three, but i understand uva being #1 a lot more than i do texas #3. uva went 2-1 but it was to a ranked east carolina team. (whereas we played centenary.) ec is one of the teams that typically does pretty well in conf usa in baseball. (conf usa may be a pansy conf in a lot of things but they generally have a few solid baseball teams. ) texas being that high after losing their series to (i think) an unranked team makes no sense to me.
Was Virginia ranked ahead of us last week? Was it at Virginia? If it was on the road and they were ranked ahead of us, then I have real issue with this. Otherwise, LSU should be #1.
Rankings at this point really don't matter. As long as we stay in the top 5 throughout the season all will be good come regional time.:geaux: :tigbas: :LSU231:
Agree, but I wonder if rankings are supposed to be "right now" or where a team is expected to end up? If the former, Texas should be #20-25 or unranked. If the latter, they should be top 10. Rice, 0-3, is #9 in one poll and unranked in another so I guess it depends on the poll as to which is which.
