Are you kidding me? Their whole career the state didn't want want to have anything to do with them and cursed them left and right because somehow they spurned LSU even though they were never coming here and every rational human knew it -- not to mention you don't have to like LSU to live here (shock, I know). Now they are each Super Bowl MVP's and you claim them? Click here
I hope that I'm not included into this because I've never had any ill words to say about any of the aforementioned quarterbacks. In fact, I've always liked Terry, Doug, and Peyton. I turned the corner on Eli earlier in this season, too (and for the record, I like Archie since I'm also a lifelong Saints fan). I was referring to something that Terry had said himself in an issue of Sports Illustrated a couple of years ago poking fun at himself. I don't think anyone that has posted on here has, in fact, tried to knock any of them for not coming to LSU (that I'm aware of). I believe the original post was saying that it was unfortunate that none of these talents could have played for LSU. So, in other words, it was LSU's loss, and not the loss of the player. All of that said, congratulations to Eli. I'm glad to see him stick it to all of those (the media especially) that have criticized him too harshly.
I don't like Eli. He's a little punk... People shouldn't be able to tell a team that they can't draft him... that represents all the wrong in sports... but with that being said, I dislike Brady and the Cheaters more.
Dude, I'm not a hypocrite. I always rooted for Peyton (unless UT was playing LSU). I thought he was robbed of the Heisman. I was always impressed with Eli,and hoped he would have a good career. I've never had an ill thought about either of them. I'm not naive enough to think that all LSU fans feel as I do, but surely some have respect for the good players coming out of the SEC regardless of where they played their ball. (Well, I don't like ALL of them, but I do like these guys.) Maybe these guys hate LSU. Don't know and don't care. Maybe these guys are jerks. Don't know and don't care. I'm happy for them. Peyton and Eli have the heart and talent to have won Superbowls and for each to be MVP of the game. Good for them, and I'm no hypocrite.
OK. Thank you. But it did sound like you were referring to me. I take back everything I was just thinking about you!
Regardless of where a guy grows up, I don't root for Ole Miss alums. I can't actively root against a guy with all my passion for 4 years, and then just forget about it because he's from here. He's still an Ole Miss guy (even wearing Ole Miss colors on gameday). Sure, it's cool that a Louisiana boy won a Super Bowl, but I'm still not a fan of Eli's. I don't completely despise Peyton (probably because we don't play UT every year), but I don't really pull for him either.
