In a time where it is so easy to look for the bad in people, this article shows what I have always felt is the true spirit of Louisiana. What is further intriguing to me is how our baseball stadium can be a place of true respect and appreciation for the game. We genuinely appreciate good play and fierce competition no matter the uniform that is sported by the players. I was truly filled with a great sense of pride when I read this and I hope that we can continue to build on this reputation in all of our venues. We are passionate about the purple and gold but we also have the character to appreciate the game and the young men who put their heart and soul on the field for all to see. It is a great illustration of the power of class. It takes great strength to stand with character and class no matter the outcome on the field. Thank you Tiger Fans for showing the true character and soul of our state. This is who we are, this is LSU!

As a caveat of sorts...I don't wear jersey's, don't wear "gameday t-shirts," or anything of the like. Thinking about things I wear that have our logo on it? I think the largest logo maybe the size of a quarter; small script A.

Now, I do have my share of hats but those are conservative as well. All that said...

I've been to Death Valley several and haven't had an issue with any fan. A few made a comment or two, but it wasn't anything that even made my emotional gauge flicker, much less jump.

I've had some GREAT food, a few drinks here and there, but always a pretty damn good time. Unfortunately, it's the bad experiences people talk about and others claim as their own.

I have had a few issues with Georgia fans...but that's a different thread. I doubt I'll ever go back to Athens.

With me it was State. I'll never go back to Starkville. There are total asses to be found everywhere. But I think the ass to amigo ratio in Baton Rouge is favorable.

Not a bad experience, but an amusing one with UGA fans. Some friends and I drove down to Atlanta for the SECCG last year and got there the Friday before the game. In the hotel elevator we met a middle-aged UGA couple. They acted surprised that we would be there that soon, because it only takes them a couple of hours to make it to Jacksonville for the Cocktail Party. All I could say was "Ma'am, it's an 8-hour drive from Baton Rouge."

my girlfriend and I went to the LSU MSU game in starkvegas. I swear those fans ring them cowbells just to hear them. We had a 2 1/2 hr drive back home and our heads were throbbing the whole way.
