It is a crowded field with 19 qualified candidates. The bottom 15 will combine for about 3% of the vote. The top 4 are all pretty awful.

Jay Dardenne - Probably the smartest guy in the field. He has a long history in state government. Was famous in the Legislature for actually reading the bills, but he has tied himself to the film industry, and has pledged to undo many of the reforms to the program in the last session.

    David Vitter- No. Just no.

Scott Angelle - Strong ties to Edwards and Jindal. A long history of raising taxes, and expanding government.

John Bel Edwards- Will expand medicaid, which we can't afford, raise taxes, expand regulation, and kill the business environment in the state. A Democrat, so no chance anyway.

I don't want any of these guys, so Ill just abstain.

My prediction is a Vitter-Dardenne run off with a Vitter win. Sucks.

Any chance Drew Brees would retire before he loses his popularity and run for governor

Edwards is polling ahead of everyone. He isn't a typical democrat. More of a moderate. If Louisiana elects Vitter we truly have the dumbest electorate in all 50 and we absolutely deserve the punishment that comes along with electing that piece of trash.

Angelle has brains and experience, but he is owned by Big Oil and he has the stink of Piyush on him. He was Jindal's point man in slashing and burning universities and hospitals. A follower, not a leader.

Vitter is a blind ideologue Washington gridlocker that will make Jindal look competent. And a whore chaser with a ton of political enemies at home and in Washington. If Hillary is elected, Vitter will get absolutely nothing out of Washington. Our budget will collapse completely under Vitter.

Edwards and Dardenne have the brains, skill and experience, but little money or charisma. Both are as moderate as can be found anywhere.

Right now I lean to Dardenne. Edwards can't get elected because the blacks won't get out and vote in their best interests.

He is polling ahead of everyone because Republican support is split between 3 candidates. Edwards has no chance in a runoff.
