In addition to being senile, Holtz ALWAYS picks the teams he used to coach. Before they lost to Ark., he was saying S. Carolina still had a shot at the national championship!
I don't really get where the "Arky is clicking on all cylinders" stuff comes from. They beat the crap outta Tennessee, but before that, that SHOULD have lost to Vandy, barely squeaking past them, and in fact, could have lost to OM, barely squeaking past them. They got drilled at Bama. LSU has barely squeaked by one team. Bama. Where Arky got housed. But yeah, I do get the "Arky has had our number lately" deal. Not only the Petrino era. We're like 6-5 since 2000, yet we are one of the top 5 programs in the country in that same time against EVERYBODY else. Arky has beaten us at least as often as anyone else in that time.
LSU record since 2000: 110-33 Arkansas record since 2000: 81-57 I'd say LSU has been a lot better than Arkansas has since 2000, yet the series is only 6-5 LSU. They have our number whether you want to admit it or not.
Well, I admitted the facts, and took the time to print them for all to see. "Having our number" is subjective, and I will not judge your opinion on that. The statement I replied to was that they get us every year. They do not. I am predicting that LSU will beat them by 2 TD's. GEAUX!!!!!!!!!!
LSU hasn't faced a really good QB in a while. WVU got the yards against us because of the underneath short routes, which are converted to 10-20 yrd plays. We have a hard time covering those type of plays for some reason (ala Trent Richardson with the wheel route - uncovered). Petrino will have Wilson hitting a lot of underneath stuff against us. However, LSUs defense has been excellent when the ball gets to the red zone or just outside. I have to say though, had AJ Mccarron been a little better, we might have been burned a couple of times. Tyler Wilson might be the guy that can burn us. We're gonna need some offense. In terms of being "up" for the game. That is not going to be a problem. This team will be really up - no doubt in my mind. They have come to play for every big game this year. Last game at TS - only the sixth home game - so much a stake. They WILL be hyped and ready, just as the crowd will - you can bet on it. Cant wait to see it. And unlike many on this thread, I think JJ can get it done. I think we are just seeing his passing potential emerge. I know he is slow to make reads sometimes, but I think he's better than last year. We just haven't had much of a chance to see it this year. Will be interesting to see him against Ole Miss this weekend. And I hope that LSU fans support whomever Miles puts on the field. :geauxtige
Pretino is a great offensive mind and our D and Chavis will be tested. I am looking forward to another good competitive game where we take over in the second half.
