I find his prediction funny because per his opinion Alabama shouldn't even be playing tonight since they didn't win their conference championship.
I have always found Lou entertaining, but he has definitely gotten harder to watch this year. His days of broadcasting may be numbered. As for his selections....who really cares.
He just added to his silliness: "the team who scores when they have the opportunity will win". Am I missing something here?
I wouldn't worry about it ... it's just the way he is. He holds a grudge over the smallest things. He likely feels that way about any team that has ever beaten one of his own, or anything he's lost at for that matter. The man is an intense competitor and he has had to be overly tough throughout his life due to his speech anomaly. Trust me, ... LSU is on a very lengthy list. I've played golf either with or around Mr. Holtz on several occasions. He spoke at my high school athletic banquet in Panama City, Florida ... of course he was heavily recruiting one of my teammates for the Hogs at the time. I first met him when I was a teenager in Little Rock. His entire demeanor towards me changed on a 12-ft downhill putt on the par-3 13th at Lake Nona. The man is an extremely ungentlemanly loser ... let's just leave it at that. It won't be the last time the man is mistaken ..... he guesses just like you and me. :yelwink2:
Now, now......every good sports show needs a loveable geriatric lisper to slobber and spit their way through the show. I just want to see he and Lee Corso square off one day like those two old Canadian guys a few months ago. I think Corso could take him....
Looks like Coach Holtz did know what he was talking about, correctly predicting LSU would win the first game and Alabama would win the BCS championship and defeat LSU the second time around. Coach Holtz has forgotten more about football than everybody here combined will ever learn.
