With the Auburn game moving to 2:30...we have ZERO meaningful night games in Tiger Stadium this season. It appears this may become the norm. It's sad the CBS tv contract ruins one of the greatest traditions in college football. We've been talking about South endzone expansion but maybe that discussion should end as I'm sure a season full of day games (including 11:20 a.m. games :dis isn't as appealing as having several night games. I've been a season ticket holder for a LONG time. The last time I missed a bowl game the current players were in diapers. I support LSU & TAF with additional contributions. I will continue to do so but will NOT attend every game any longer if they're all going to be during the day. I'll just have to (hopefully) sell the early games and hope for an evening bowl game. Screw you CBS for really screwing up a good thing!
between day games and the new parking fee, tailgating seems a lot less this year. saturday should have been wall to wall tailgaters because of it being florida, but it just didnt seem very crowded. and it shows in the stands, imo. between the time and lack of bourbon, the crowds dont seem very loud. sucks.
Why does CBS only have one night game a season to broadcast? Seriously, what *else* is so awesome that they just have to have it on in that timeslot? Or are they only *allowed* to broadcast one Saturday night game a season?
October 3, 1931: Tiger Stadium's first night game. LSU defeated Spring Hill 35-0 I know it seems really unfair but I am having a hard time hating anything about this year. You got to ask yourself: What Would the Honey Badger Do? I'm thinking Honey Badge don't give a **** day or night, right? Geaux Tigers!
That's the price you pay for success. If you want night games in Tiger Stadium bring back Curley Halliman.
Ha! I told a fellow poster that exact thing this morning (via email), except I said Dinardo in lieu of Hallman. Figured there was no need to invoke such terror in his heart just to make a point.
You could always sacrifice a chicken and pray for the return of Curley Halman. I'm not a fan of day games and absolutely hate the 11:30am games, but it's a sign of success. As long as the Tigers keep competing for BCS bowls there will be day games. EDIT: Never mind, guess I should read the whole thread before posting. Anyway you should get the picture.
