    Isn't it nice when winning the west is second fiddle to NC hopes. Let's hope it stays that way for three more weeks. :LSU231:

    totally agree. it seemed most of the time when i was in school (90's) we were always waiting on the outcome of the iron bowl to see if we could back into a west title (of course AU and bama took turns screwing us).

    but what a great time to be an LSU Tiger when a SEC West title is swept under the rug b/c it's only a piece of the championship puzzle.

    i like the fact that les uses the term "west representatives" and never says "west champions" all that much. we're obviously focused on bigger goals.:wave:

    Is winning the SEC West considered a "title"? It's obviously a goal, because it means you get into the SEC championship game, but to me at least winning the SEC West just gives you the opportunity to win a title.

    Another fact left out of discussion is that the senior Tigers accomplished one of their main goals in their last game under the lights in Tiger Stadium.

    Congrats to the Tigers for clinching this thing. Friend of mine, big Gator fan, reminded me over here Sat after the OS/Ill Game that he told me after LSU/UF, that this was the Tigers year. He also said they,d bring home the NC...I hope he was prophetic. It took a hell of a lot of muscle and brain power for the Tigers to "scratch" their way to the top. The SEC championship game in any other season would be more than enough accolades, but not this one. Tigers are due...they've earned this shot. From here forward as always, one game at a time. Until the last whistles blown in the final game of the year...Man, with all their shortcomings, this "has" to be, the best Tiger squad I've ever seen in my 40+ years of watching LSU football. Just my opinion...
