I think this opens the door to Bucholz to bust onto the scene in 08. I think he is ready. I think Schilling will come back in August/September just in time to go 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA in the playoffs and help Boston win another title.
Was just watching SportsDesk on NESN. They're saying Wake will probably be the No 2 starter. That'll sandwich his 25 mph knuckler in between Beckett and Dice-K's fastballs. Not a bad idea IMO. Lester at 4 and Bucholtz at 5. I still think they're gonna need another arm to take some innings from Wakefield. He has the poetential to throw a CG any given night, or get shelled early and you're in in the bullpen by the 4th.
Depth is the problem. Buchholtz could very well wind up having a great year, but somewhere along the way they'll need another arm. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go out and get someone like Kyle Lohse to help eat up some innings.
Be vewy, vewy careful with that theory. Some team from the National Leauge might rise up an bite 'em in the @ss.
