The Post-Standard (Syracuse, NY), today: LSU football coach Les Miles has apparently inquired about bringing former Syracuse coach Greg Robinson to Baton Rouge as his defensive coordinator. Contacted Thursday night, Robinson did not deny the contact about the LSU job, though he said the information might be "reaching a little bit." He said he's weighing all his options. "I don't see myself having the ability to do something right now," Robinson said. "First of all, I want to continue to work on our coaches to help them (find new jobs). Secondly, I have to weigh all my options. That's going to take some time." ... Robinson indicated he's received other coaching inquiries. He said there have "been some calls about certain things. I'm not in a position at this time to make a decision." At the same time, he said he is putting his own professional opportunities on hold, which "might remove me from some situations, possibly," he said. "That's where I'm at." http://www.syracuse.com/sports/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1228471218199430.xml&coll=1 NOTE: This was also posted by tigerfan1977 in the Greg Robinson thread, here: http://www.tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=79175&page=3
Guys.... Think about what was taking place a year ago this week.....and have a great day... Les knows better than anyone (especially after last year) of how to go about these types of affairs. Our defense underachieved more (IMO) than our offense did. I feel confident that CLM has a plan..... :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
Associated Press - December 5, 2008 12:05 PM ET STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy says the search for a defensive coordinator will wait until after the Cowboys' bowl game. OSU defensive coordinator Tim Beckman was hired yesterday by Toledo. Gundy he learned last year after the departure of offensive coordinator Larry Fedora to not even take calls from interested coaches yet. There are several coaches with defensive backgrounds who are or could soon be available. Utah State coach and former OSU player and coach Brent Guy and New Mexico coach Rocky Long have both been let go. Defensive coordinators John Chavis of Tennessee, Vic Koenning of Clemson and Paul Rhoads of Auburn have been or could be dismissed because of head coaching changes at those schools. http://www.kfor.com/Global/story.asp?S=9464928&nav=menu99_4
