Yeah, and last year a DC who was supposedly a lock to come here blabbed to the media before an official announcement was made by LSU and you remember how well that worked out for him...
Very good point, its obvious there are negotiations taking place, or possibly still interviewing other candidates.
LSU has made unofficial contacts with three coaches, but I don't recall who they were. I think Chavis and Koennig may have been two. Can anyone jog my memory.
Disregard the above. The three coaches were Chavis, Koennig and Nix. I thought the third one was Nix, but I was not sure.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: I certainly hope that LSU doesn't lose out on the best candidates available due to inaction/inability to make a decision. CLM's job does depend to this DC hire, or lack thereof. The longer this goes on with no action is bad for LSU, IMO. Many other schools have made decisions already regarding coaching/staff changes. Why does LSU have to be so secretive about this and take so long? They are not building an atomic bomb here. Just hire the best guy. Too much time is waisting here. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
The guy in charge of one of the other big LSU forums on the internet keeps claiming that he has been told that Les Miles has made his decision and knows exactly who he wants to get.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: I hope that's correct and that he (CLM) does it soon. If not, LSU may end up with the scraps after the best candidates were taken by schools that didn't drag their feet and took action. This is not hard. Hire the best guy, whoever that is. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
We have a lot of powerful, influential people concerned about the future of LSU football, which brings in tens of millions of dollars for LSU -- the LSU Board of Directors, administration, Athletic Dept, TAF, powerful boosters, etc. They are on top of it. I hope they go high-class and have a private jet ready to go.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: I'm all for that. Hope that jet is in the air right now. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
