OK...you all have some good points. I don't have a problem with DB going to USM. In fact, I have a MUCH better chance of seeing him play in person with him at USM...for FREE. BUT...

I disagree that it was a "good decision" for him. He had no choice, really. It was the ONLY decision he had. I'm not mad at him for it. But he will NOT get the kind of attention at USM that he would have had he been able to go to LSU. He likely won't even see the field at USM for 2 years anyway...unless Miss Gulf Coast CC is considered a part USM.

Southern Miss is not that bad I used to go to Hattiesburg all the time and give motivational speeches to the deaf, Hattiesburg is a pretty nice little town.

We were refuting the fact that is was a bad decision. He likely wouldnt see the field much at LSU even if he didnt go JUCO.

Its probably are they looking at him since they have a new coaching staff but if D.Brown can get into school R.Mackey would be a great pickup for them.

The SEC has, at least had, the most (263) players on the 2007 National Football League opening day active rosters.

The Atlantic Coast Conference was second with 238 players, followed by the Big Ten with 234 players.

LSU isn't leading the way within the SEC though- but we're in the hunt and could pass UGA and UT this year- assuming all returned that are in the NFL.

    Georgia (37)
    Tennessee (36)
    LSU (33)
    Auburn (33)
    Florida (31)
    Alabama (21)
    South Carolina (19)
    Ole Miss (17)
    Mississippi State (17)
    Arkansas (12)
    Kentucky (6)
    Vanderbilt (5)

Cool. Mine, Bhelm and vball's was per NCAA team when you switched gears to the SEC so I thought I'd toss that out.

Kinda surprised Florida doesn't have more players in the NFL. I think Spurrier's produced a lot of "system" players that did not fare well in the NFL. We all know all of his mighty QBs sucked all to high hell.

I'm sure it's already in this thread somewhere, but I'm too lazy to read it all again.

Southern Miss @ LSU November 7th, 2009. DeAndre Brown vs. Patrick Johnson et. al. For some reason, I'm anxious to see that game.

LSU fans are going to completely destroy the little town of Hattiesburg. They have no idea what is going to hit them.
