I have neither the time nor the energy...but could you please assemble a list of players that the SEC has put into the NFL now? Also, how many 1st rounders from CUSA...particularly WR's...compared to how many from the SEC...particularly WR's?

I'd be willing to venture that LSU alone has nearly that many NFL draftees in that same time period...with MORE 1st rounders...vs ALL of CUSA.

He wasn't saying playing for SMU offers a player the same opportunities than playing for LSU. The Tigers will certainly get more national exposure than SMU. All he is saying is that people have their own reasons for choosing the school they do. In Brown's case it was the opportunity to play this year instead of sitting out two year at a junior college. The fact that he is playing for a smaller university will not, in and of itself, hurt his chances of playing in the NFL. Terry Bradshaw played for Louisiana Tech. And look at how many NFL players came from Grambling. There are a lot of pros that come from the smaller colleges and universities.

    Another good example:

Along with LSU the only other school with 5 players in the SuperBowl is Marshall.

No one is saying the SEC is not a premier conference to put players into the NFL in high rounds but that decisions are tailored to each individual recruit and Brown made a good decision.

Because the SEC has better athletes, but that isnt the point.

If he had three star talent going to USM it wouldn't be smart. But because he is such a freak he will get noticed immediately at USM, where as he would blend in at LSU for a while.

I'm sure he's every bit of the stud many say he is. If USM has the coaching staff and supporting cast to develop him, he'll do fine. Would've been nice to land him, but c'est al vie.

exactly. anyone remember how terrible reggie ball was at qb? didnt hurt calvin johnson's stock any. USM is a similar situation.

decent program known for its defense and average skill people on offense.

a guy like this looks like randy moss on a pee wee team. he will be fine even if he only catches 50 balls a year.

    reggie ball jr?
