There is really no telling what the behind the scenes process at LSU was like last year. And we don't know what changed in Aranda's life or thinking. I'm just glad something changed. To me, we are now in a much better place than if Chief and Brick had stayed.

Match his defensive philosophy with the way O likes to get after the QB and it should be exciting to watch. Add the fact that Aranda is report be a great teacher and stickler for sound fundamentals and I get fired up for next seasons D. Haven't heard much about his recruiting, I hope it's top notch. Only other question I have is if the type of athletes LSU recruits will be able to learn his system quickly. I've read that his NFL type system is semi complicated. On the surface this is definitely a home run hire. Sure is some much needed great news, now go get us some LBs.

I thought the Les Miles clause is fairly common in cfb.

I would think it's at least just sorta understood that if the head coach leaves for any reason there is a very good possibility his assistants will be replaced as well.

Great hire! It would be a sad thing if Miles can't get off of his lazy ass and spend the time at the office necessary to produce a well-disciplined, focused and well-coached football team. If LSU makes a future change at HC, this promising and potential coaching prodigy will probably go along with Miles. But, we should probably be optimistic. Things look good for the LSU 2016 football season.

Yes, but the question is, "What's their buyout?" With the CLM clause, the assistants' buyout was for a smaller amount then the tenure of their full contracts.

According to @Paul Covaleski , our resident insider who posted earlier, he's a great recruiter who relates well to youngsters.
