I'm not doubting this formula, Red I would agree with it. But do you know how this is figured? Princeton (31) and Yale (33) were once powers, ancient times ago.
I noticed a national championship is 65 points. And our total is 165. We got counted for 2.5?
Schedule points might be the most I'm unsure about however, our total is 782, compared to Bama at 776. And then you got UGA with 804. I'm sure some thorough research went into this.

It certainly was for me. I witnessed 3 coaches in my time at LSU, having shown up in 1999 and leaving in 05 (sheepishly admitted, yes, 6 years).

Seeing us at 3-8 in 99 and then 8-4 in 2000 was an experience. I witnessed the birth of the golden age of LSU football, and the golden age of the SEC, not to mention our first NC in 50 years. I saw fans storming the field, and witnessed the attitude change that showed storming the field as a thing of the past; something the wannabes do.

I'll never, ever forget my time in the LSU band.

While it was nothing compared to this decade, I went to LSU in the 90s and it included the rebirth of a program that allowed Nick Saban (through Morris Watts) to show us as a sleeping giant.

After Dinardo brought back the magic in '95, we only lost two games in '96 and earned our first Game Day. Then, we beat #1 Florida in '97 and the program was on the rise until the unfortunate encounter with the Tepper.

It's enough to dispel the notion that LSU was ever a "bottom feeder".

That's because UGA had to play the university of the South in Sewanee every year back in the day.

I'm with Red! I been an LSU fan since 71 and besides the 90's experiment we could play with anybody. Never bottom feeders!!!!!

And Saban only rented a few years he had nothing to do with the construction!:yelwink2:

Well bottom feeder may not have been the correct use of words. Excuse me. But going 3-8 is pretty low. Not even being able to dream about an sec championship in the 90,s was sad. I went to the sugar bowl and watched lsu get smashed by neb. That was one of those " at least we made it " things. We don't get excited for making it anymore. We must win.
That's not the point I was making. Kent is really down on themselves now. We look at them like we were never there, or can never be there again. We had bad years. We are one NCAA ruling from being there again. Look at USCw. We should be happy. Saban did resurrect lsu football and miles made us a dynasty. We are now enjoying the best ever years of lsu football. Enjoy them. Tresure them. All glory is fleeting.
