Ya know, that pretty well describes the LSU fan base leading up to that game. You thought you'd have a fighters chance playing Okie State. I do as well. Most didn't want to face Bama again and it's easy to see why. While Bama lost the game in Tuscaloosa, everyone knew LSU walked out of Bryant Denny very lucky that day.
No we knew LSU kicked your ass in your home stadium. Yes it was a close game but don’t try to rewrite history. We didn’t want to play Alabama again because it was unfair. Alabama LOST already to the Tigers in November and had every incentive nothing to lose in a rematch. We had the conference championship and deserved to play another conference champion not a loser. Quick question had the score been reversed in November would you give LSU a second bite at the Apple? I’m sure Saban wouldn’t have. He spent the whole fall saying only a conference champion deserved a BCS appearance only to reverse himself when convenient.
I haven't seen a reason to expand to eight. This season has served to be an excellent example and the proceeding four years have as well. When CFB went to four teams what's happened with that fifth team? If I'm not mistaken, they're 1-4. Going back to the original post and question, I've only seen one answer here that made me pause for a moment: @Bengal B brought up TCU. He believes they could have won the title in '14. Over half of that conference won seven or less games that season. It certainly wasn't a strong Big 12 season.
