The 2005 class should be the heart of our team this year but it was a small class and came on the heels of the other coach's departure. The younger guys that started and played on defense this year will be more experienced next year. Our defense will be better in '09.
Right, a class of 13 is a very small class. Only 9 are still at LSU. These guys are all in their 4th year at LSU, either as seniors or redshirt juniors, and should be the heart of our team, the leaders.
Haha... one game and he's was worth the scholly? ROFL Bottom line is that Saban didn't want to touch him because of all his shenanigans, and Miles comes along, picks him up without an insurance policy (i.e. another halfway decent QB), and we get screwed. The guy was a total bust.
Its funny when you go back and look at old posts like this. I like your quote in that topic "oops, spoke too soon". I think it just shows the overall impact of a particular class is not something you can measure at a specific point in time. Until they graduate all you can give is progress reports and those can fluctuate from year to year.
As have I, but while I believe Saban had his reservations, I don't doubt that he would've signed him in a heart beat.
I think I speak for every Tiger fan when I say that I will happily offer up a scholarship for a player's MVP performance in the SEC CG that propels us to a Championship. Every. Single. Year.
