Trying to forget the brain damage of last night. What kind of conversations do you think Alleva and Miles are having today? It's still crystal clear ( no pun intended ) that as a major program we still lack any form of capable OC with Stud running the show. Kragthorpe's health issues were a very unfortunate turn of events for his family first, and tiger nation second. That being said where do we go from here? Do Alleva and Miles agree to move Stud back to an OL coaching position and find a new OC? Given the quality of our recruiting classes over the last 10 years it would be nice if we could field a reasonably well functioning offense for a change.
Alleva is going to say good job coach, great 13-1 season. What can he say with Les Miles record? I have to wonder if Les Miles was controlling the gameplan over Studs, hell, he sure didn't try and change personnel or play key players for most of the game. This was Insanity at its finest by a head coach last night! Am so looking forward to next year, it was one game on a great season. It is inexcusable though, I have never seen a team play that badly offensively in a Championship game.
Alleva will do what he was hired to do: keep Les happy and try to revive the other athletic programs. He won't do anything to rock the football boat.
Alleva won't do chit. Les has a 20 million dollar buyout. He only has the power to fire Miles and he can't even do that without backing from the Board of Supervisors. Only Miles can fire his assistants and he won't do it. Les Miles spent the last month totally failing to prepare his team for the biggest game in LSU history. "I didn't see this coming", Les says. Well everybody else did. Jefferson's miserable performance in the SECCG was the script for Nick to plan a defense. But Les somehow didn't see it. Bama probably didn't spare a practice getting ready for Lee. But Les didn't see that either.
I have been saying from day one we need a real OC. Not stud who got the job due to the terrible news about Krags. LSU needs to go out and hire an actual OC. LSU is at risk here as being a program that ruins Offensive players. Think about it. We dont feature a RB. So big time RB's are going to start saying "Hmmm I will only get the ball every once in awhile due to their style" QB - So far so good but until Keil actually signs I am very worried he may reconsider. WR - Please.... No LSU needs to recommit to creating a strong offense. Start by rolling some heads.
I agree with most of this. I'm not sure we have to roll some heads, but we sure as hell need a captain of the offensive ship. Stud is an average OL coach and I'm ok with him staying in that role ( despite last night ), Krags might be a good QB coach, and nobody knows if Gonzales is good since we can't throw the ball.
